Products

Border Valley Trading offers several types of forages for dairy, beef, and equine markets. These forage are available in traditional stable and retail 3-tie, double compressed big bale, double compressed 1⁄2 cut and "BIB" (bale in bag) packaging.

Alfalfa Hay - Alfalfa has the highest feed value of any commonly grown hay. It contains 15-23% crude protein and also a rich source of dietary fiber, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Alfalfa is widely grown for beef and dairy cows as well as for horses.
Bermuda Hay - Bermuda hay is a perennial warm-season grass grown extensively here in the Imperial Valley. It is a soft-textured hay with high consumption for calves and horses. Although lower in protein content than Alfalfa, Bermuda Hay has more dietary fiber for better digestion.
Teff Grass - Teff Grass is another perennial warm-season grass. It is a fine-stemmed, high in fiber, and low in sugar and starch. These characteristics make it a great choice for horses and recently weaned calves. Our farmers have great experience producing high-quality Teff Gress across multiple harvests each year.
