Grower Support
Border Valley Trading relies on a grower network that extends through California into Nevada and Oregon. Many of our growers have supplied BVT product since our first day in business while others are new suppliers to the company. All growers are a vital component to the success and reputation of the company.
The company works with its growers by utilizing four, full-time field representatives that consult with growers on seeding rates, ground preparation, fertilizer applications, harvest, baling and other quality control matters. A grower’s field, ranch or company is treated as though is it were our own. Our success depends on their success.
We also work with growers to educate them on the ever changing demand from our marketplace. It is critical that our growers “adapt” to what customers are requesting from year to year as preferences and quality traits can and will vary. A failure to communicate properly with our growers will lead to a failure of meeting customer expectations.
A strong, supportive grower base is the foundation of any successful export forage company. This is why Border Valley Trading invests a great deal of time, energy and monies into their supply side “partners”. With increasing demands for safe feed and quality assurance, we feel this investment sets us apart from other suppliers.
