Green Initiatives

With the new fleet of LNG trucks, new LNG fueling station, conversion from diesel powered presses to electric powered presses, environmentally friendly packaging materials and recycled twine/tarp materials, Border Valley Trading’s (BVT) corporate initiative to help protect the environment is moving forward. The steps BVT has taken thus far will have the following impact on emissions:

• 32.7 tons/year of Nitrogen Oxide removed from compress operations
• 7.0 tons/year of Carbon Monoxide removed from compress operations
• 510 tons/year of Greenhouse Gasses removed by conversion from diesel to LNG trucks.

During the 6-year life of these trucks and compress machines, BVT estimates that over 3,330 tons of harmful pollutants will be removed from the environment. With more initiatives forthcoming, we expect that number to go higher.
